Climbing
Iliniza
Sur
5260
mts.
3 days / 2 nights, departs from Quito
Technical Ice Climbing 55 degrees
One of the most technical ascents of the equatorial Andes with narrow
iced corridors, which make this peak very attractive. In order to reach
the shelter, climbers must hike along a sand ridge for three to five hours.
One pick technique with ice screw protection is enough to pass the two
walls to reach the summit.
Cotopaxi
5897
mts.
3 days / 2 nights, departs from Quito
Highest Active Volcano on Earth
This perfect cone-shaped volcano is covered by glaciers that run down
to 4800 mts. No major difficulties are encountered on the snow-covered
route leading to the top, as relatively solid ice bridges cover the crevasses.
The estimated duration for the climb is five to seven hours, whereas the
descent requires only two or three hours.
Chimborazo
6310 mts.
3 days / 2 nights, departs from Quito
Highest Peak of the Equatorial Andes
This peak is calculated to be the closest point to the sun on earth. To
climb up to the top in one day from the shelter requires strength and
stamina. If you follow the Stubel ridge, you will have a smooth climb
on snow up to the Point Veintimilla and then a walk up to the Ecuador
summit. The climb is usually without major difficulties, with the possible
exception of the altitude and unevenness of terrain.
We also climb:

some ideas that were introduced more recently, such as livestock farming,
sedentary agriculture and fishing. Not far from the river exists an unexplored
group of caves, habitat of the oil birds Steatornis caripensis. The region
